Shannon Alexander gives us the 2023 documentary It’s Coming. In essence? The film is about demons in New York City. Specifically, Brooklyn. It sounds like a corny joke, right? It makes one think of Vampire in Brooklyn, Eddie Murphy, jokes and gags galore right? Well this occurrence is very real. A mother and her family are infested by spirits, their home is invaded by shadows that move. They also interact with her children.
The Story of It’s Coming

Let ‘s Talk It’s Coming
The film feels like a digital version of another true tale that creeped me out. True Haunting. Written by Edwin F Becker, it tells of his struggle to rid his apartment building, and home, from demonic spirits. That story creeped me out so much, I slept with the lights on for ages. It’s Coming feels the same.
The helplessness, the search for answers and, ultimately, the final battle to get the demons out. It is impressive, scary and, perhaps, a lesson for those with similar issues. Do not give up.
Initially, It’s Coming feels like Enfield. It sounds, feels, like a poltergeist in action. However, there are no physical manifestations. No spinning plates. There are no items flying off shelves. Instead, we have verbal contact and the main players here see the intruders. Javier, sees and interacts with “Kitty.”
Roland-white, Javier’s mum, has been approached by “spirits” since she was a child. Now that these entities are approaching her children. She takes action.
It Works
Like Becker’s tale of his own battle with demons, this is presented in a straightforward manner. There are no histrionics here. No floating tables, nothing “Hollywood” at all. It is, in fact, pretty low key.

This low key approach works well in relating the factuality of what is happening. Anyone familiar with shows like “Ghost Hunters” and TAPs will know what EMP/EMF and White Noise means. These are included in this documentary. *However peripherally.*
Kudos to Shannon Alexander for presenting this in such a manner that we believe it all. Almost without question.
It’s Coming is Disturbing
What is disturbing in It’s Coming is the reluctance to consult the Church. It may well be down to Roland-white being a protestant. Were she Catholic, one feels she may have approached the Church first. This may, or may not, be true as the woman herself is quite combative. She has a sort of DIY approach to the problem. *DIY stands for “Do It Yourself” a phrase coined by those who want to renovate their houses without help*
It’s Coming follows the woman’s attempt to cleanse her home. Twice. Once via a medium and once with an “exorcist.” *The quotation marks indicate that this exorcist couple are not, apparently Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Warrens were members of the Roman Catholic Church. This documentary carefully excludes mentioning the denomination of the DeFlorios.
Regardless of whether the couple are of a Protestant denomination, or not, we feel the problem is far from over.
The Verdict
It’s Coming is a solid 5 star documentary. The matter of fact and down to earth presentation adds a certain gravitas to the entire project. We believe Roland-white. We also believe that Javier may be the new generation to have contact with evil spirits. The entire thing feels all too believable. It’s Coming is streaming on Tubi right now. Head on over right now. Turn on the lights, if it is nighttime and watch this one.
