The 2025 short Intextigator 4: The Sound of the Plebvilles is pure genius. It is the fourth in Intextigator series. The first, set almost entirely on the “face” of a mobile, aka; cell, phone is simple, yet brilliant. Each iteration of the series gets more involved with people, despite sticking with the phone concept.

This one also delves deeper into Sherlock Holmes “canon.” Bringing Moriarty into tale as the AI detective’s nemesis.

Intextigator 4 Story

Aaron Adler attempts to take down Toronto’s newest “detective” AI program. Sherlock, the program, has an impressive record. Adler wants it stopped. There may be a price to pay for this action.

Intextigator Cast

Konstantin Bolshakov is Aaron Adler.

Sarah Jane Froggett is Stella Adler.

Bryna Weiss is Madelaine Gionet.

Chloe Cavelle is Watson.

It Works

Writer, producer, director John Babu gives us an all too believable world here. In this modern age of technology relying more and more on artificial intelligence, aka; AI, it feels “possible.” His series takes us through each step of Sherlock’s growth as a program.

The first film sees the program taking its first steps. Sherlock is solving “cold cases.” In Intextigator 4, he is investigating a call-in. Someone reports a child being abducted. This fake call is generated by Aaron.

The techno speak, as when the AI explains that it does not recognise certain works or acronyms, it brilliant. Sherlock always explains that this will be fixed in a future iteration.

Babu works with Weiss again, Optillus being the first, and they work well together. She brings a certain authority to her work and we appreciate it. Froggett and Bolshakov also bring a certain gravity to their characters.

The filmmaker utilizes the post credits device used in the other films and, quite honestly, we love it.

Playing in a Minefield

Aaron Adler feels the police have too much power at their disposal. He intends to be the Moriarty to their Sherlock. Unfortunately for Adler, he is playing in a minefield. The ripples his actions set off, rock his world.

In a bad way.

Intextigator 4 Verdict

This 28 minute short film is just pure genius. Babu links it to the actual character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He is clearly a fan. I give this film a solid 5 stars. It can actually be viewed on YouTube right now. *Be persistent, autocorrect will change Intextigator to instigator or investigator. It is slightly maddening.*
