Episode 6 of Bad Monkey is all about running and last minutes saves. *This episode could well get the “best recap” ever award. Tom Nowicki, as narrator, says during the recap: “If you want to know why Yancey is in a body bag, watch the previous episode.”
Magic.
The story so far
Ro turns Yancy in. Mendez is in heaven, thinking he can now frame Yancy for murder. The crooked cop believes that his enemy will now rot in jail for a crime he did not commit.
*Side note: Kudos to the show’s creators for throwing two nods to the TV show, and film with Harrison Ford, for multiple references to the show. “Wanted for a murder he did not commit, etc, etc. Plus the fact that a one armed man did really kill the doc. (I know, I probably have spent far too much time watching films and television.) Yancy is not Dr. Richard Kimble, but Christopher is that one armed killer.*
Rosa investigates the drug running operation and Bonnie, AKA Plover Chase, runs off with her (Former) teen lover; Cody. Bonnie is disturbed to find that her ex lover is a walking case of arrested development. She takes off just as the FBI closes in on her.

This is after her “meaningful” moment with Jim Yancy‘s manatee. Running is the only option for Bonnie right now.
Ro provides a last minute save for Yancy, clearing him of the Mendez set up. The Dragon Queen thinks she has also performed a last minute save. She believes that she will get Neville’s land sold to Eve and Christopher.
Neville‘s running lands him at Rosa’s feet. Literally.
The Verdict
Bad Monkey, with all the running and last minute saves is spot on this week. Vaughn’s glib asides roll off his tongue like a liquid machine gun with rapid and seemingly nonstop delivery.
Kudos to the nod, from the show’s creator’s once again, to the Marvel Universe. Specifically to Ant-Man. That flashback with Ro and the eyewitness to the doctor’s murder is brilliant. Ro (John Ortiz) takes the place of Ant-Man’s Luis (Michael Peña) as he repeats the “recitation” gag from the film(s).
Bad Monkey manages to snag a full 5 stars this week. The writing and the story are still doing a great job of making this must see TV. This episode was pretty much all about running and last minute saves. It is still streaming on Apple TV +.
