The Apple Juice Kid drops Love Love. The work is not just a music album; it’s a multi-textured converge of art and music between Emmy-award-winning musician Apple Juice Kid (Stephen Levitin) and visual artist Mark Abercrombie.

Spiritual Genesis

The genesis of this collaboration is as compelling as its execution. Apple Juice Kid, is known for blending diverse musical genres. He saw an opportunity to elevate his album through collaboration with a long-term friend Mark Abercrombie. Mark’s vivid paintings feature on the album cover.

Stemming from spiritual encounters with Deepak Chopra, the album incorporates the guru’s sacred readings. This makes “Love Love” transcend traditional musical boundaries. Deepak Chopra loved the album so much, in fact, that he sent it to Oprah after he met with Apple Juice Kid!

From the meditative fusion of spirituality with dance music in “Time” to the infectious blend of trap and dancehall influenced by Jamaican legends Sly and Robbie, each track surprises us with its innovative and unique composition.

All Genres

It should come as no surprise that Apple Juice Kid was inspired by seemingly different genres of music. From A Tribe Called Quest to Nirvana, D’angelo to Daft Punk as well as producers like Mark Ronson, Swizz Beats, and Questlove made his transition from drummer to producer. “I knew mash-ups would be the way I felt most inspired to make music,” she shares.

In order to expand the album’s sound narrative, Apple Juice Kid deliberately integrated visual art into his music. Mark Abercrombie views this collaboration as an opportunity to bring gallery-worthy art into mainstream music culture. Thus enriching the visual landscape of a traditional music album.

What’s it all about

Reflecting on their favorite memories from the project, Apple Juice Kid highlights the serendipitous creation of “Time” featuring Deepak Chopra’s voice. And the experience of collaborating with Jamaican music icons: Sly and Robbie. Mark Abercrombie, on the other hand, loved seeing his art translated into wearable merch. Plus its celebration in media coverage—a validation of his artistic vision reaching new heights.

This album is not just a collection of songs. It is a celebration of love that the Apple Juice Kid and Mark Abercrombie have expressed in a multitude of rhythms and sounds.

When asked to describe the core message of the album, they both say in unison: LOVE
