Writer/Actor/Director Keith Jardine gives us the 2025 Fantasy/Horror Kill Me Again. It is basically Groundhog Day set in a diner, with blood and multiple deaths. Over and over and over again. You get the idea, right?

The Kill Me Again Story

Charlie is the infamous serial killer the “Midnight Mangler.” He enters a diner to find another victim and he ends up reliving the experience repeatedly. After multiple murders, he realises the “fun” has gone out of killing.

The Cast

Majandra Delfino is Ana.

Raoul Max Trujillo is Dr Lovato.

Brendan Fehr is Charlie.

Tait Fletcher is Fry Cook.

Keith Jardine is David Stijanski.

Casting Agents Side Note:

If they ever need someone to play Errol Flynn in a biopic? Fehr is the man. He looks eerily like the old swashbuckler in this film.

Let’s Talk Kill Me Again

This film has clearly been influenced by the 1993 Bill Murray film Groundhog day. It is not alone. Everyone, it seems, has taken the time loop experience and had a run at it. Even Star Trek the Next Generation gave this a go. *Data was the only member of the crew who realised that they were caught in a loop. If I remember correctly.*

In this time repeating tale, Charlie is the only person, bar one, who knows that he is reliving his arrival in the diner. Each time, he does things differently. This means bodies pile up only to “reanimate” later when Charlie re-enters the eatery.

Kill Me Again Works Sort Of

Jardine does a great job putting things together. However, things start to wear thin towards the end. The film’s runtime of 108 minutes does not drag though. There are just so many times we can go through the “killing fields” in that diner.

Having said that, the director does give us a twist at the end. Think Twilight Zone, the episode Where is Everybody? and you’ll get what I mean. Add to that combo, prison and a psych board and all will come clear.

It is a splendid twist and this part works very well. I might add that this has a double, nay triple, spin on the story. This makes the film worth the “wearing thin” part.

The Verdict

Kill Me Again is a solid 3.75 stars. There are clever moments intermixed with the long running Groundhog Day gag. *Keep an eye out for the Fry Cook scene. It is almost worth the price of admission for that alone.* The film is streaming on Prime right now. It’s worth a look.
