Legends and Sean Bean Are Back on TNT

Legends and Sean Bean are back on TNT. The second season begins on November 2 on the network. However, there have been some changes with the show that viewers became addicted to in 2014. The cast roster has been completely turned on its head with a lot of familiar faces now gone. In fact the only other character, and the actor playing him, from season one to return is Tony Rice (played by Morris Chestnut).

10 episodes will continue the story of Bean’s covert operator who learned in season one that his entire life was just another legend. While “Martin Odum” will continue his search for identity, his compadres have changed. Gone are Ali Larter, Tina Majorino and new actors, Ralph Brown (Agent Carter), Ave Zoli (Sons of Anarchy), Steve Kazee (Shameless), Aisling Franciosi (The Fall), Kelly Overton (True Blood) and Klara Issova (Crossing Lines) have joined the operative’s journey of discovery.

Where the first outing of Legends was land-locked in the US, with a few flashback sequences set outside the borders, the new season has been filmed across Europe. Season two opens with Odum (Bean) avoiding authorities for the murder pinned on him at the last of season one. The tortured man and agent will travel across the European continent and England searching for clues to his true identity and will discover some pretty horrific facts that he may wish he had never learned.

While Crystal McGuire has left Martin’s support network, new contact Nina Brenner (played by Kelly Overton) from the CIA and Tony Rice (Chestnut) help Odum in his global quest for the truth. These two lead him to a possible link to his past, Ilyana Crawford and her troubled daughter Kate (Klara Issova and Aisling Franciosi)

Martin learns that he has connections with a retired spook, Terrance Graves (Brown). All he learns begins to clash with his present life and the lie (legend) he has been living. Odum also finds out that he has more than one crime that someone wants to pin on him. Back in 2001 the FBI wanted to arrest him for a different offense entirely.

The older case was run by Agent Curtis Ballard (played by Steve Kazee) and the agents accomplice a Czech police officer Gabrielle Miskova (Winter Ave Zoli). Martin must learn the truth in oder to clear his name and attempt to keep his troubled past from catching up with him.

Legends is adapted from Robert Littell’s award-winning book and is produced by Fox 21. The showrunner is Star Trek: Voyager and Perception executive producer Ken Biller. Other executive producers for the second season are Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24), Homeland and Lie to Me executive producer Alexander Cary and Jonathan Levin (Charmed).

Killjoys: SyFy Approves Second Season “You Are Locked and Served Again”

On the same day that Dark Matter, another popular science fiction series,  learned it now has a second season  Killjoys also heard that they were officially renewed. SyFy has announced that the series about bounty hunters in space, “You are locked and served,” will be around for another season.

SyFy announced on September 1, 2015 that  Killjoys has been given the greenlight for a further 10 episodes and a second season that will premiere in 2016. The joint produced series, Space are the co producers of the show, follows a trio of Killjoys, aka bounty hunters.  The interplanetary warrant chasers, who work through the “Quad,” is from Temple Street Productions (Orphan Black) and stars Aaron Ashmore as Johnny Jacobi, Luke Macfarlane as his brother D’Avin Jacobi  and Hannah John-Kamen as Dutch the kick-a** female leader of the bounty hunters.

Thom Allison is Pree , Sarah Power is Pawter Simms and Rob Stewart is Khlyen the mysterious level six.  Executive Vice President Original Content SyFy Bill McGoldrick  expressed confidence that the show has a great future with the channel, stating that the show was exciting and that show creator Michelle Lovretta would be bringing some great adventures to the next season. Killjoys averaged 1.5 million viewers  in its first season.

Co-Presidents of Temple Street productions and executive producers of Killjoys, David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg also expressed excitement that the show will be back. The series is distributed worldwide by Universal Cable Productions, and the two men stated that they were looking forward to working with the SyFy team again.

Season two of Killjoys is another addition to an exciting 2016 lineup, Dark Matter based on the graphic novel by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie , The Magicians,  based on Lev Grossman’s bestselling novels. Gale Anne Hurd’s Hunters, the 10-part space drama The Expanse (which will premiere this December), and a new season of 12 Monkeys was also announced one the same day.

200,000 Views and Making My First $10

With all the concentration on getting my blog, which will from now on always be referred to as my “website” set up with ads from Google and having made the switch from wordpress.com to Bluehost as my server, it came as a surprise when I finally hit the 200,000 views and on the same day, I realized that I had made my first $10.

Excitement levels soared, but not too far as, let’s face it, 10 bucks doesn’t go as far as it used to and I’ve been hovering around the 200,000 mark for a while now. Still, it proves that in this world, whether blogging or not, you have to prime the pump a little to get more exposure.

I’ll explain.

I made the decision this year to go outside my comfort zone and leave WP dot com and head over to dot org. The main reason was that I could put Google Adsense on my site. While I may never make enough to buy more than the occasional latte, this move puts me more firmly where I want to be. Self employed working mainly on my site and heading (very slowly) to Bing and Google News land.

After two years, or so, of folks telling me that I have “mad writing skills” (sorry that was not actually what they said, but merely my translation) and that I was being foolish by not concentrating on my own site. Since I’ve been blogging since 2011 and worked as a journalist for nearly two years, and an editor for the same amount of time, it seemed to be good suggestion.

Part of the reason for this move is to get rid of the nasty taste in my mouth from working for a con artist and the remainder of the rationale has to do with not having to write for any content mills. As I mentioned in my Inquistr article, there are plenty out there and while they seem to pay better than most, these…clowns, idiots people cannot seem to read a simple email.

*Sidenote* After telling me that my “sample” was not good enough and to write another one, I responded saying that with no specific feedback, I would not be writing any further “articles.” I got two more emails asking me to rewrite my sample article but neither one offered any feedback specific to the first one, as requested. My final email, which they obviously finally read, said bluntly “Stop wasting my time” and “read my previous emails.” *Long sidenote over*

Admittedly, I was not too upset about not being asked to write real, versus, sample articles as their requirements are 100 stories per month. Can we say Content Mill? With no proper Internet (I’m sure that Burger King pray for a day when I will have my own service to use and will no longer darken their towels.) I am in no position to work for any other publications that have that sort of workload requirement.

I have noticed that my recaps and reviews for TV shows and films are growing in terms of view counts and that a lot of show’s writers and creators are interacting in a positive fashion. On top of all this great news, I have also made money. My cup runneth over or at least it will when I have verified my address to get paid.

200,000 views on my blog (website) is a milestone. Back when I first started all this blogging stuff, it was a hobby meant to see if I could still write. It had been years since my journalism course and while writing classes were taken at University and as part of the courses offered via the USAF I did not submit much in the way of news articles and as for creative writing…

Time will tell whether this milestone will mean anything or not in terms of site growth. Regardless of just where this all ends up, I will continue my Bing and Google journey and keep doing the reviews and recaps while fitting in the odd film review. The only thing that will slow me down will be lack of funds or food, which really amounts to the same thing.

Life is interesting, although not always in a good way, and if I can just survive riding a schwinn bike 12 miles plus seven days a week at (almost) 57 in high temperatures or storms and not be hit by some octogenarian driver I may just start to make some real money…like $20.

I would carry on about this exciting event but there is research to be done about whether or not a “donate” button can be added to a page with Adsense ads on it…

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis Say I Do in Fourth of July Wedding

At long last, the romance that started on That ’70s Show between their two characters has ended in a romantic Fourth of July weekend wedding for Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis as they both said “I do,” in a secret ceremony. The two performers played on-again-off-again couple Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart in the series, which starred Topher Grace and Laura Prepon as the show’s other romantically attached couple.

According to Kunis, now Mrs. Kutcher, her first “real” kiss was with the Michael Kelso actor on the popular show about a group of friends in Wisconsin. While several sites are reporting that the two have married over the weekend, their reps have neither confirmed or denied the marriage reports.

Both actors were attached to other people for a number of years. 31 year-old Mila dated Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin for years and 37 year-old Kutcher was married to Bruce Willis’ ex Demi Moore whom he divorced in December 2013. Ashton and Kunis became an item in 2012 and began dating seriously in 2013.

The newlyweds got engaged in February 2014 and already have a child, 9 month-old Wyatt Isabelle and the two were rumored to be married earlier this year. Mila has been quoted as saying that many people have movie star crushes that she was lucky enough to have married hers.

This “tying of the knot” is Mila’s first and Ashton’s second.

While the rumor has not been officially confirmed, the news that they married over the holiday weekend is pretty exciting stuff for their fans. Their love story has been a sort of Hollywood fairy tale with a magical ending for both. So at long last Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart are married, under the guise of Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.

Congratulations you two crazy kids.

Emily Kinney and Norman Reedus in May to December Romance

While it may be a little unfair to refer to the news of Emily Kinney and Norman Reedus allegedly dating as a May to December romance, but to be honest a lot of months in this supposed relationship lay between the two. 46 year-old Reedus plays Daryl Dixon in the AMC cult hit The Walking Dead and until recently 29 year-old Kinney played Beth Green in TWD.

The two characters got really close in season four, after the breakdown of the group’s prison sanctuary, only for Beth to be kidnapped and then killed in season 5. Many fans of the show believed that the two would have become a couple in the show had the younger Green sister lived. Certainly Dixon’s reaction was on par with a man who just discovered his true feelings for the girl. There was even talk of a petition to bring Beth back.

In real life, according to Emily, Norman was very supportive, and still is, with her transition from The Walking Dead regular to singing at concerts. Firstly it was all about texting and showing up at conventions and singing gigs. This attention to Kinney has led to love according to a source close to the “new” couple.

Other media publications are full of pictures that seem to prove that with that much PDA going on, there can be little doubt that the two former cast members have found love between the cons.

Kinney was distraught and shocked to learn of her character’s death as were her many fans. Beth may not have existed in the comic book world of The Walking Dead, but she was a favorite in the TV verse. Sadly, her story was cut cruelly short just as the girl’s character arc made an upward swing. That Beth died so soon after growing so much was bitter and ironic, proving that she did not “need” Daryl apparently doomed the girl.

Reedus has been a fan favorite from the beginning. The crossbow carrying laconic character, brother of Merle, was rumored to be gay or have a thing for Carol. In real life, Norman, father of a 15 year-old boy, named Mingus, is now attached to Emily Kinney, although the romantic aspect of their relationship is a recent thing according to sources.

Looking at the pictures splashed across the Internet, the two seem to be in that delirious stage of the relationship where they find it hard to not touch one another. While a chorus of “awww’s” may be drowned out with loud hisses of dismay, Norman as Daryl is the show’s biggest “pinup,” the two do look very happy and excited about this recent development.
