While Bryan Cranston saw the humorous side to Florida Mom Susan Schrijver starting a petition to take down the Walter White and Jesse Pinkman action figures from Toys R Us shelves Aaron Paul did not find it the least bit funny and he took on the woman with his own petition and as one @JessePinkman tweet might say, “Yeah B*tch.” Fighting fire with fire, @AaronPaul tweeted a link to another online petition asking the toy store to put the Heisenberg and Jesse Pinkman six inch action figures back on the shelves.
Uptight Florida mother Susan Schrivjer, who told the world on The Today Show that she was “shocked and appalled” that Breaking Bad action figures were on sale in Toys R Us outlets called for signatures to ban these heinous creations from being sold to children, 8000 plus signatures later and one cannot find any of these despicable things even on the store’s website; but stop for just one moment and ask this question, does this “Florida mom” work for Mezco? Is this her Heisenberg mechanization to become an action figure Queenpin in the world of cheaply manufactured toys used to cash in on a show’s success?
Sarah Silverman made a triumphant return to Saturday Night Live (SNL) playing host and paying tribute to her hero Joan Rivers. It has only come to light recently that the 43 year-old stand up comic, actress and writer was dumped unceremoniously via fax, a sort of old fashioned version of being fired by text, from the show back during the male dominated part of the franchise in the 1990’s. What is interesting about her being “let go” is the reasoning behind it.
Gracepoint began on FOX Thursday after quite a good bit of buildup and it turns out to be a British mystery, literally as it is a frame by frame re-shooting of Broadchurch, the 2013 ITV award-winning television show in England; while the locale of the story has changed, by any name the series is essentially the ITV drama sans tea and scones. There are some things that have not been altered in this move across the “big pond.” The former Doctor Who actor David Tennant plays the exact same character but with a significant name change, Hardy in the ITV drama and Carver in the FOX version.
Quite possibly the best thing to come out of multiple streaming sites like Netflix and Amazon is the ability to binge watch programs to prepare for a new season, like Under the Dome and season two which will premiere on Monday June 30. Netflix is perhaps more attuned to this new pastime than Amazon but the second site is catching up fast.
