Even ‘A’ list names like Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper can get caught up in apparent film distribution problems, for example their other “pairing” film, Serena, has not been set up to be released in the U.S. There has been a premiere date set for the United Kingdom but no sign of a premiere date for the land across the pond.
America Ferrera was accosted on the red carpet at Cannes as she stood with her How to Train Your Dragon 2 co-stars by a man who lifted her dress and tried to shove his head under it looking, perhaps, for Ugly Betty. America was standing next to the newest addition to the cast, Cate Blanchett along with other members of the animated feature’s players.
During the 86th Annual Academy Awards ceremony when Ellen DeGeneres took her Oscars selfie Twitter went wild and then broke while the popular talk show host got her tweeted pic retweeted so much it broke records as well as the app; ironically this spontaneous act was not spontaneous at all. Certainly, the producers of the show are saying that the selfie was Ellen’s idea and not something that had been preplanned. Unfortunately, the facts suggest otherwise.
Just why this year’s 86th Annual Academy Awards is so important is a bit of a mystery; as unfathomable as to why Ellen Degeneres and instant updates by the host, and by everyone attending the Oscars, has repeatedly broken Twitter. Certainly the much loved talk show host, who has returned after a seven year break from hosting the show; as Ellen herself said, “Gosh to think that they’ve invited me back so soon,” is a definite crowd pleaser.
On the February 17 Ellen Degeneres talk show Bradley Cooper revealed that when he went to the White House, he had to go commando because his tuxedo was “crazy town tight.” The 39 year-old actor was recounting his, almost, disastrous trip to a State Dinner in the country’s capital on February 11, this year. The American Hustlestar was due to meet President Obama and he told Ellen that before going to Washington D.C. that he’d decided to wear the same tux he’d donned for the Golden Globe ceremony. A video of Cooper telling Ellen and her audience the tale of the tight tuxedo is in a video below.
