‘American Horror Story’ Freak Show: Orphans (Recap and Review)

American Horror Story Freak Show: Orphans gives Elsa the chance to mourn about the loss of one pin head, the male version of the duo named, appropriately enough. Salt. At the start of the show an inconsolable Pepper refuses to leave the corpse of Salt and the other freaks are trying to persuade the mourning woman that the body must be moved. Elsa speaks of how much she is effected by the death of one of her monsters. Desiree is reading to Pepper and when she attempts to leave, the pin head throws a fit. Elsa and Des speak of it and Mars reveals the backstory of how she obtained Pepper, Ma Petite and Salt.

American Horror Story: Freak Show Just Got Really Freaky (Review)

American Horror Story: Freak Show just got really freaky, with its latest episode, titled very appropriately Tupperware Party Massacre, and heads off into the stratosphere exceeding all prior bounds of oddities in the season thus far. Dandy Mott making his own “mother puppet” which is in reality his own Dot and Bette puppet, after killing the Avon lady started the show off properly, setting the murderous tone for the rest of the show. *And on a sidenote, how many viewers can remember when the Avon ladies used to come to the front door and those adverts on the telly, “Avon Calling.” Ah the nostalgia…*

The Pyramid: Digging up Trouble but no Mummy (Review and Trailer)

Fans of horror films who are also fans of the Brit television comedy The Inbetweeners, and the two films it spawned, will love The Pyramid where an archaeological team are digging up trouble, but no mummy, in the middle of the Egyptian desert after they unearth the three sided tomb of a pharaoh. Directed by Grégory Levasseur, who is best known for writing and producing The Hills Have Eyes and Mirrors, this is his first time helming a feature length film and the screenplay was written by Daniel Meersand (The 7th Claus, Removal) and Nick Simon (The 7th Claus, Removal).

American Horror Story: Freak Show Ditches Clever for Bodycount (Review)

American Horror Story Freak Show in its latest two episodes ditches the clever Ryan Murphy touches which have made the show such a delight and instead focussed on bodycount, taking the series to an even darker place. The descent into increased homicidal tendencies and macabre episodes of violence seem to indicate that Dandy Mott’s inbred madness is contagious. The first episodes of season four had many sly touches of humor interjected with the overall oddness so prevalent in this carnival side show world of human anomalies. One such clever touch was the blending of musical numbers that were out-of-time i.e. anachronistic with the 1950s setting of the series.

American Horror Story: Blood Bath (Recap and Review)

This week’s episode of American Horror Story, titled Blood Bath, sees the show continue to build the body count although the title of blood bath seems a bit more fitting for the next show where it looks like Dandy goes all out. Before then, however, Ethel and Elsa have a showdown, prompted by the bearded lady overhearing Mars speaking with Spalding about killing the twins. This accidental eavesdropping occurred after Darling told her friend and employer that if she ever found out that Elsa had lied about the Tatler sisters, she would kill her.
