Day three of the 2014 Las Vegas Star Trek Convention proved that the weekend brings Trekkers or Trekkies, and it seems that both factions have indeed been filling the halls of the event, out in droves. Saturday brought out all those fans who could not be there from the beginning who managed to make in at the weekend. The halls at the Rio Suite Hotel and Casino were heaving with red-shirted Trek fans, along with other color uniforms, all there to see their favorite actors either in person, as part of a panel or both.
The Star Trek 2014 Las Vegas Convention on day two featured a regular cornucopia of stars and delivered one of the events best kept secrets. The amount of familiar faces that were roaming the halls and seated at the vendor tables in the Captain Dave Exhibition was spellbinding and impressive. Like the yesterday there was a large array of stars who were all part of the Gene Roddenberry world, regardless of the size of their role.
Day one of the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con was brilliant and I was loving it, so was the crowd. The atmosphere at the event was friendly, fun, encouraging, and exciting. There were a number of well known comic artists and writers. The number of cosplay costumes were too many to count and ran from the scary, Spawn to the more child friendly, Pokemon.
The 2014 Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con is coming up very soon, starting on Friday June 20 ending June 22 and fans will have the opportunity to meet their cultural idols. It will be held at the South Point Hotel & Casino and will feature the “three C’s;” Comics, Creators and Cosplay. According to the convention’s organisers the actual event will take place in the pavilion, just down from the “giant cowboy statue.” The Guardian Liberty Voice will be there represented by this writer. To say that excitement levels are huge, would be the understatement of the century.
Maxim Hot 100 2014 List Drops Miley Cyrus to 25
Well, what a difference a year makes, the Maxim Hot 100 list for 2014 is out and it has dropped Miley Cyrus to number 25 on the list. Last year, the 21 year-old singer placed a somewhat controversial number one. The decision to place a, then, 20 year-old in the top spot was not made any more palatable by complaints that Cyrus looked too much like Justin Bieber to be considered sexy.
