Chelsea That’s My Tight End: Jeff Ross, Max Greenfield & Fantasy Football

Chelsea Handler Netflix

Chelsea was all about the NFL, the Rams, comedy roasts and fantasy football.  The show started with Chelsea celebrating the return of the Rams to Los Angeles from St. Louis. This episode marks the first time that Tammy as well as Chunk were on the show. Chelsea told the audience that if no one is bitten, she may become a regular feature on future episodes.

The first guest was Jeffery Ross, the host of Comedy Central’s celebrity roasts and Jeff Ross Presents Roast BattleHe and Chelsea spoke about the Rob Lowe roast, that will air on Labor Day, and Ann Coulter.

Ross talked about how Ann did not seem to get the spirit of the roast environment. He also cracked, “She’s written 11 books and she couldn’t write one f*cking joke for this roast.”

Coulter was called a “C-word” a number of times on the roast and was actually picked on more than Lowe, the celebrity the roast was held for.  Interestingly enough, over on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” host of the Labor Day roast; David Spade, did not even mention Ann Coulter…

On Chelsea , however, the main topic was Ann Coulter and the roast.  Ross pointed out that Coulter was paid to be on the show and she was not there to promote her book.  Ross’ humor did have the audience groaning in a few instances.

He plugged his latest “roast” “Jeff Ross Roasts Cops” which is a follow up to his Jeff Ross Roasts Criminals: Live at Brazos County Jail.

The next guest was Army veteran, double amputee and author Noah Galloway. He and Ross were both on “Dancing With the Stars” and Galloway joked with Ross about doing better in the competition than the roast master.

Galloway was there to plug his memoir “Living With No Excuses.”  Noah gave good interview and even when Chelsea told him off for not reading his former girlfriend’s goodbye letter he came across very well. His response to her question about whether he brought the letter was brilliant.

The subject of NFL player Colin  Kaepernick refusing to stand for the national anthem was brought up. Galloway was initially quite incensed about the footballer’s stance but then rethought the issue when he realized it was not being disrespectful to veterans.

Next Chelsea investigated  the Fantasy Football League. Her team name is Chelsea F*ck You. One thing pointed out about the league is that it is now an application versus the old days of penned lists of “your” fantasy football team.

Handler is brilliant at these “field recordings.”  She holds nothing back and even though Chelsea shows a bit of enthusiasm toward the end it is clear this is not a huge “win” for her.

The last guest was New Girl actor Max Greenfield. He and Chelsea talked about Fantasy Football and made plans to be in the same league. Greenfield revealed that he lies to his wife about how many leagues he is currently in.

He also spoke briefly about horseback riding with his daughter. This was prompted by some sunscreen cream on his ear.

Greenfield points out that talking about the league is forbidden (it is not cool at all) although you can poke fun at losers in your league. Ms. Handler finished with a “brought to you” segment that mentioned dinosaurs among things.

Chelsea airs Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on Netflix.
